Casting for Sean Norona Short Film “OuterBound”

Below is the info for Sean Norona’s short film “OuterBound”.

Hello,

My name is Sean. I am the director of the OUTERBOUND film project. Let me take a moment to explain my intensions with this film. I have a feature length script and am going to produce a short film from that longer script in order to put on kickstarter to possibly get funding for the feature length version. There is no deadline for this project, but schedule will be made once casting is complete. If you are chosen for a role for the short it does not mean you are bound to be a part of the feature film version. You will of course be given that option to play the role for the full length version if you would like to be a part of it and your schedule allows it.

The short will consist of the opening of the film pages 1-10 of the script attached below. If you are interested in auditioning for either Mia, Barbara, or Patrick please send an audition video of a dry read of any part of pages 1-10. Feel free to have someone read across from you if you need, and can film with any camera including phones. Once you have completed the video audition send it to me via wetransfer.com. Upload the video to that and send it to my email address. I look forward to reviewing all auditions. If you are considered for a role, you will receive a follow up email and we will schedule a call back audition where you will read in person and possibly across from other actors considered for one of the three roles.

Note that the role for the short is for experience only. Once it is complete, actors will get a digital copy of the film for their reel and their name in the credits. However if the Outerbound Film Project gets funding from kickstarter, we will put the feature film into production and all roles will be paying roles.

If you are still interested please send an audition video my way!

Discussing A Scene – Levon Clip #2

One thing(s) that I like about this scene is it shows off the way color is used in Levon. In this dream sequence we find Ben running a course, when all of a sudden, he gets stuck in the mud. A very simple allegory for his current situation in life. While stuck in the mud pit, he sees his fiance, Jules and others run right past the mud with no problem. Again symbolizing how everyone is easily navigating through life while Ben is trapped now able to move on. On top of the symbolism of the action being shown, I accentuated the use of green and yellow colors to represent Ben’s jealousy, envy, etc. While most of the film is in Black & White, when I bring out color it’s for a purpose. Reminiscing scenes have more of a warm soft golden tint, while scenes depicting exaggerated depression hits you with a colder dark blue. This may be a small budget short film, BUT every scene and every shot was painstakingly crafted to convey a certain emotion. Right down to the color/shade of clothes a character wears. It will be very interesting, once released, to see what other details viewers will pick up as they study each scene/shot.

Ben is trying to get free of his dead end unfulfilling job and back into the glory of his past successes in film. His efforts to create the perfect script loved by everyone, “The Brunswick Sessions,” is going no where fast. It’s got vampires, evil therapists, drama, and a love triangle gone wrong. What more could you want?!? But when a disturbance derails Ben’s evening, he finds out he’s got more on his plate than a terrible script. Check out this extended exclusive clip below!

Music Composer Announcement For “Levon”

I would like to announce our very talented music composer, Kenny Shore. His unique music style will definitely capture the quintessential mood of Levon. I am very excited to have him showcase his talents on this project.

In addition to contributing original material for Levon, there will also be 2 songs featured, “Far Away” and “Midnight Prayer” (as a member of The Twang Doctors). Listen to them below!

He also portrays Agent #1 in the movie!
