Back From Winter “Break”

Oh maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, it’s been a long time.

For those who are interested, let me bring you all up to date on the status of That Endless Horizon Productions.

In January I started post production on the 49th NC Southern Piedmont Historical Reenactment Society Recruitment Video. I also helped Director Steven Hancock shoot the ending last summer. As of right now all video post-production is around 90% done. Over the next couple of weekends, we will take care are the Sound Design (Firearm Sound Effects and such) and ADR (Automated Dialogue Recording) to replace some of the dialogue that was shot outside. Overall this project is coming along very nicely and a final product should be wrapped up by the end of February with it being released sometime in March.

In addition to the Recruitment Video, I helped out Director Wes Woodfin with his short film project.  A weekend trip to Roxboro is where I DP’d (Director of Photography) the horror “Fear of the Flesh”.  “Fear of the Flesh” is the story of 3 friends in the middle of a zombie attack, where zombies are least of their worries.  We didn’t quite finish it all up during that weekend, but we got 95% of shot, so there is a story intact. This will most likely mean a Director’s Cut sometime down the line. Until then you’ll have to deal with my cut of it and it’s interesting. This weekend I’ll be finishing up the first rough edit of the film and I’ll be sending it to Wes to get his notes & comments.  This is probably my most intense edits I have done. A ton of Sound Design/Sound Effects & a bunch of Visual Effects are being put into this. The post production is going a little slower then I had planned, but I believe it’s going to be we’ll worth the extra time put into it. Since it’s still too early to judge when a completed product will be finished, my only estimates would be a Late March/April viewing.

On top of all that, I haven’t really forgotten my own projects.  “Four Points” is still something I want to get made, but I merged it as a Prologue with this other Idea that I’ve had on my mind for about 3-4 years.  Since that’s the case I want to do this right, so I am saving up to get a decent budget to get this all done. So the official status of “Four Points” &  “Untitled Feature” is Still In Development.

Until then I am going to be doing a lot more shorts and short films starting in April. They’ll be something akin to my “A Message From ProspeKt” videos, but a lot more production value in it. Also I am looking into Animation, maybe. I actually wrote 4 scripts last weekend that would work  great as an animation. So I am looking into that.

But my basic goal is to deliver more content. Although the views for 2012 were are good as 2011 (a couple 100 views short) I was very happy in the content and the diversity in what I delivered. Now I just have to spread it out there better for 2013.
